Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on Android in Egypt Q2 2022

During the second quarter of 2022, the carpooling and ridesharing landscape in Egypt saw notable activity on the Android platform. Here’s a closer look at the performance trends of the top five apps: DiDi Rider: Affordable rides, inDrive. Save on city rides, Uber - Request a ride, DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash, and Careem – rides, food & more.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced fluctuating trends in weekly downloads, starting at around 140K in late March and ending at approximately 99K by the end of June. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from 153K to 148K over the same period.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a steady increase in downloads, peaking at roughly 117K in late May. Active users also grew consistently, reaching around 361K by the end of June, up from 329K at the beginning of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady increase in both downloads and active users. Downloads rose from 32K in late March to about 41K by the end of June. Active users saw a similar trend, increasing from approximately 1M to 1.1M during the same period.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash had a modest increase in downloads, starting at around 9K and peaking at nearly 27K in early May. Active users fluctuated but ended the quarter with a slight decrease, from 21K in late March to about 20K by the end of June.

Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more saw steady growth in downloads, rising from around 8K in late March to approximately 10K by the end of June. Active users saw minor fluctuations, ultimately decreasing from 289K to 236K over the quarter.
